At some point you are likely to get a running injury of some form. That’s how we tend to learn where our boundaries are! But, even a minor injury can be devastating to a runner and the key is to minimize risk.

Risk of injury can be reduced with a suitable warm up and cool down, the correct shoe for your gait and style and a gradually progressive running programme.  Other factors which may help include enough rest between runs to allow for recovery, strengthening exercises of core muscles, specialist massage and ensuring you are well hydrated.

There is plenty of advice available either on the web or through your local club as to how to manage and treat yourself if you are unlucky enough to receive an injury.
